ever read sweet thursday by that guy you know
well it is and it was

my thursday
began on the mat
with my new best friend mr. rodney (yoga) yee
he doesn't know me

then i wore a scarf hot pink
with a hat, chocolate brown felt
and a navyblue duffel coat
and boots to the knee
and warm mittens polar fleece olive drab

we walk to school
arrive on time

oh yeah ate the largest apple ever
and remember picking them off the tree
technique learnt 'eye to the sky' twist and pull
warm from the sun
fresh and juicy too

i digress
lots of digressing

i made ratatouille
even though no one seems to love it like me

oh yeah and spyed a secret,
i can't tell...

pick up
wrap head
hurry home

lunch with our friends
little a for you
big l for me
i always learn from this

how to defrost chicken
and not die this week

i missed that lesson
maybe under the coffee table
drawing and dreaming away

i am too involved in cleaning
and the products that once made me nauseous
now make me high
and i like it, too much maybe

i like the sparkle

my day full of run on sentences
and incomplete participles

oh and the snow
individual flakes
on navy duffel coat
another world
small smaller than this

yes, instead of prayer
always grateful
and the occasional
nod to the gods
in the shrine
and out

then my he
comes home

after a short nap
i cook some more
feed everyone
mingle grease and cleanser
and dance my way back up

up up and away
a very nice day

red bucket

i bought myself a new bucket
so red sexy shiny
and i filled it up
with steaming hot water
and the muscular mr. clean
we went down
on the floor
and covered all the bases
from the corner of the kitchen
to behind the toilet tank
we went there
holding hands
the smell medicinal
lingered in the nostrils
a headyness let me
float to the living room
to get out the vacuum
and cruise around the imitation persian rug
don't be jealous mr. clean
i save the wet spots for you

bohemian laundry

a few things to be said,
if all your clothing is black it looks clean even if it isn't
if you have no laundry you need not have washer and dryer worries
i have laundry,
i have no washer and dryer
i am so hung out
to dry
a birthday approaches
my mid life crisis
has to do with
shlepping laundry
perhaps a new career is in order
one where i do not have to have the correct change
or maybe a whole new approach
thinking outside the washer
and dreaming up disposible clothing
and edible towels and bedding

no trouble with tired

tired wrinkles my forehead
sleep wants to seep in
back off drink of tea
nothing seems as good as slumber
a party for me
tired makes me nappish
slap happy giddy,
say yes,
like kiki
in 1920's paris
say ahh,
embrace sleepy
forget focus
smell the chicken in the oven
listen to the boy in the frock
a formal occasion
coming out to play
listen to the word 'snooze'
melt it
bend it
flop down

bits and pieces

come on into this suitcase of mine and rummage around
never mind the slight smell of mould and mildew, it happens
it is old

i am a broken mirror these days

hence forth the bits and pieces

slight bug?
between the lines
the not knowing
in between space

pema chodron says "lean into the points"
i am. It isn't comfortable but it is here and now.

many changes
discombobulated of late

now where was that train
of thought

that already threaded needle
the scissors

i don't have the foggyist
not a clue
not a clue
not a clue

more from the laundromat

i will call this nameless place
the scarey laundromat
a drunk as skunk man
at 11 in the morning
took my seat,
how rude
and started babbling
in he started 'baby doll'
enough of that
i stamped my foot
with back to him
and he shudup

leaves fall

i am standing in a small pile of old leaves
fallen from the trees of others
and not knowing what to say
or how to draw it
the leaves now dead or dying
crunch and crackle
the brittle is felt up and down the spin

because i have so much to say
but don't know where to start

because bratwurst is a sausage
and isn't any judgement on the type of child you have

because 1920's Paris seemed really crazy and open

because this isn't that time

because in some parts of the world lipstick is illegal

i will tell you this

come closer

feel the heat of this whisper

it is all okay

just be yourself
