once upon a time

i was an educational assistant
in special education

one day
a delinquent
james deen-esque
downs syndrom
clyptomaniac

stole a very large stapler

he had it in his pocket

i said, not thinking

come on t you have a giant stapler in your pocket

our eyes locked

and then
he
hoofed me in the calf

and i cried

and we were both called into the office
where t was made to apologize

which he did
